Based on the author Lois P Frankel, nice girls’ mistake #1: Pretending it is not a game.

I agree. The workplace is a game; there is a set of rules, boundaries and strategies needed to be achieved to succeed. However, these ‘rules’ are different for men and women.

I, however, do not agree that a ‘winner’ will come out from this. I do not believe that women has to be pit against men as the playing field has been different from the start. To win a game is to be in the same game. If half of the court is playing tennis, the other is playing badminton - would it make sense?

In my opinion, we are only against ourselves to pass thru those set of rules and boundaries to ‘win the game’.

Because depending on one’s career direction, who is to say this certain somebody is winning the other is not? We have different goals for ourselves. Knowing what we want and what we think of ourselves is much more important to succeed.

I am not saying that us ladies should obliged and carry on with our day because that would mean we are agreeing that the workforce is men’s world. I say we challenge the system, challenge the game. Get into the men’s game and/or drag them into ours. You have yourself a game.

P/s: I never thought I would disagree with an author so early on in a book. But I do.
